Arundel
- Take A Day-Trip From Brighton...
Within
an hours reach of Brighton is
the lovely town of Arundel – a perfect daytrip from Brighton.
Arundel is one
of the most breathtaking small English towns, due to it’s
location upon the
Arun valley as well as the majestic Arundel Castle
which towers over the
city like a giant stone guardian.
Arundel
Castle was built in the 11th
Century and with it’s location atop a hill, you can get great
views of Arundel
as well as the Sussex countryside from many places around the castle.
Visitors
can also walk through many of the ancient rooms of the castle and
absorb the
grand collection of paintings, furniture and armour inside. There are
also some
magnificent gardens to walk through.
Also
worth visiting is Amberley
Working Museum, which is home to several random ancient items
including
crafts, telephones, buses and even trains.
Arundel
has a lovely ancient town
feel, and it’s a classic example of a charming English
village with stunning,
picturesque scenery, narrow streets and old buildings brimming with
character.
There are a couple of small pubs and restaurants to soak in the
atmosphere after
taking in the views. Some other attractions within Arundel, or nearby,
are the
Cathedral, Arundel Wildfowl & Wetlands Centre and Denmans
Gardens.
