Accommodation
- Brighton Hotels, B&B's Hostels & More...
Brighton
& Hove has a huge number
of hotels, B&B’s and other lodgings – these
range from the bargain
range to top end suites available at some of the more
established hotels.
One thing’s for sure – you’ll certainly
find accommodation in Brighton to
suit your needs and budget.
One
thing to note is that
accommodation can get very full, particularly during peak times (especially the school summer holidays in July and August) and
also during
the Brighton festival (an arts festival that takes place in
the city
each year, usually in May when works of art are displayed in open houses around the area).
The standards in British seaside B&Bs has risen to meet the requirements of
today's tourists and most now offer ensuite facilies and tea and coffe making facilities. Breakfast is typically included but not other meals.
It’s typical of
British seaside resorts,
and all part of the experience. As a result there tends to be plenty of places to eat around the resort
Top
End Hotels
At
the premium end of the price
spectrum, the hotels right by the pier & pavilion tend to
charge high rates.
If you have the budget, try the 5* Royal York Hotel , the Hickstead Hotel, The Ramada Brighton or the Royal
Albion
Hotel which are all packed into the very heart of the pier/pavilion
region. Also
closeby is the 4* Thistle Brighton Hotel – expect to pay in
upwards of £85 per
person at least for these hotels, though these rates can vary both
upwards and
downwards depending on season and the day you visit. Cheaper rates
apply during
non peak times.
Medium
Range Hotels
For
standard travellers, it’s
possible to get a room right on the sea without paying too high a
price. Some of
the hotels that fall into the medium category include Seafield House,
Kings
Hotel and Best Western Princes.
Cheap
Accommodation
If
you don’t mind staying a bit further away from
the sea and are willing to compromise a certain element of luxury then
you can
stay in one of the many B&B’s that are inland. These
tend not to be too
far away from the action – often just a ten minute drive, yet
prices can dip
to as little as £30 per night. You can also use one of a
couple of places that
are built specifically for budget travellers and backpackers
– the Baggies
Backpackers and Brighton Backpackers Hostel.
If
you’re travelling during the
summer months, it’s really advisable to book your hotel well
in advance of
arrival. It can be near impossible to find decent hotels during this
time on the
day of arrival.
